Music Theory – Grade Three
$37.00
Description
The fourth book in the “MUSIC THEORY” series explores double accidentals, enharmonic change and intervals by quantity and quality. Scale degree names are introduced, as well as new major and minor keys and chords. Compound time signatures are explained, along with duplets, the metronome and the anacrusis. More Italian terms are added to the student’s vocabulary, and students are taught how to recognise and mark accented words or syllables in short verses. Each chapter features clear ‘teach-yourself’ information, examples and questions for students to complete independently. Two sample exams are included (in the same format as used by the Australian Guild of Music) as well as a list of the chords students are expected to know at this level, and blank manuscript paper. Students should be able to confidently sit the Australian Guild of Music Grade Three Theory Examination after completing this book.
